Huancaccocha lagoon   Huancaccocha lagoon
Diverse types of birds live on this lagoon, like Parihuanas (local flamingo),
Huallaga (andean goose), ajoya, ajome and 3 native ducks. Trouts and  frogs
also live here. It is an area of alpaca’s breeding, stone cabins and curious rock
forms. Sport fishing is allowed.

An ancient stone city built between the 10th and 15th century A.D.,
with Wari and Inca influence. Some meters away there is a colonial
temple and chapel, that date from 1790.
Condorccocha Lagoon
Or “lagoon of the Condors” lodges condor nests where they nestle
and live the whole year round, in addition to some other varieties of
local and migrating birds.

Caraybamba andens
“Andens” are agriculture areas located in the slopes of the Andes where the Inca’s cultivated their crops. This Ccaraybamba andens are 17 kms. long and 3 kms. wide and were used by the Wari’s and the Inca’s. Ccaraybamba, which in quechua language means “give, invite without any interest”, was a very important place for the Wari culture, because of the weather and the way the Andean slopes are located. In the top of Ccaraybamba are the archeological remains of Pucarccasa, which belong to the Wari’s.

Sañayca
andean community whose hospitable inhabitants still practice their ancient costumes such as the ayni, the minka, bartering and the sowing rituals besides the art of weaving Alpaca wool. Visitors can learn how to spin or weave the wool. In Sañayca, they can rent horses, hike or mountain bike, as well as observe various animal species of singular beauty such as condors, hummingbirds, hawks, deer, foxes, herds of mustangs and with luck, even pumas.
